Northallerton & District Community Car Scheme

o The Northallerton & District Community Car Scheme is a service for people unable to access public or private transport.

o Our volunteer drivers provide transport using their own vehicles.

o Service users may have mobility problems, a disability or live in a remote rural area.

o The charge for the service is 40p per mile (Jan 08).

o There is a minimum charge of £2.50 and mileage rates are calculated from the driver’s home and back again.

o Journeys can be booked on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm on tel. 01609 780458, or a message can be left on the 24hr answer machine.

o The Northallerton & District Community Car Scheme provided over 6,500 journeys last year.

o Unfortunately, due to the success of the scheme and huge demand for journeys, new clients are on hold until we obtain additional funding to increase our hours of operation. Please contact us to register your interest in using the scheme and we will get in touch when we are able to accept new clients.
